Catherine Pillay is a Creative Consultant with experience in marketing strategy, brand communications and innovation. She has developed ideas for some of the world’s leading brands both directly and through advertising agencies.
Recently she was a Senior Director of Brand Marketing & Creative for Comedy Central where she created brand ideas and 360 campaigns for the channel’s shows, including: South Park, Broad City, The Daily Show, Drunk History, Nathan For You etc.
Before moving to a single channel, Catherine was a Creative Director for Marketing Strategy and Engagement across all of Viacom’s portfolio of brands including MTV, Nickelodeon, BET, TV Land, Comedy Central and Paramount Pictures. During this time, she also worked on the Viacom Labs team developing concepts for products, platforms and experiences that inspired and empowered the future of fan engagement.
Catherine joined Viacom in 2012 at Scratch, an internal agency that channeled the reach, connection and creative force of Viacom for external clients. As a Creative Strategist she developed creative solutions for brands such as Pepsi, GM, Verizon, MLS, and Malala Foundation.
Prior to Viacom, Catherine spent time as a Trends Consultant and writer for popular online publication PSFK, worked for award-winning advertising agencies Safari Sundays and Love Communications, and obtained a B.A. in Design and Visual Communications from UTS, Sydney.
